Credit Notes

From time to time you may need to cater for credit notes, ensuring you do not pay invoices without first considering any applicable credit notes in Xero.

This article outlines how BatchPay handles the processing of Credit Notes.

1. Apply Credit Notes in Xero

First you need to ensure you've applied and approved credit notes to bills correctly in Xero. The below image shows a $2,000.00 bill less the application of a $500.00 credit note, leaving $1,500.00 due any payable in Xero.

Please ensure you complete this step for all applicable credit notes in Xero before proceeding to the next step.

2. Login to BatchPay

In the above example, you'll note the $2,000.00 invoice has a $500.00 credit note applied in Xero. Once you've logged in to BatchPay you'll note BatchPay displays ONLY the balance remaining to pay of $1,500.00 so that you cannot overpay the remaining outstanding amount.
